I fell for my trick,
the oldest trick in the book,
falling head over heels
for myself as I saw her,
or more correctly myself:
mirrored in her actions and
in the traps she lays and
falls into, dancing around
boys' hearts in a pattern
that dazzled the unsuspecting,
the guilty hearted, blind,
swallowing defeat as her
eyes swallow yet another
soul set to fade.
